How "Mel" and "Greg" Became "Mel and Greg"
Mel and Greg met briefly at a park on the Guadalupe River in the summer of 2004. But Mel worked in the office and Greg was in the field; their paths didn't often cross. Two years later, Mel was back for the summer again. Mel and Greg had the opportunity to talk more and discovered that they both enjoyed the outdoors. They went hiking together and had so much fun together that Greg agreed to re-tile the Mel's parents' house in his spare time to be closer to her. During this time, Greg asked Mel out. After a few times, she came to her senses and said yes!
As the summer drew to a close, Mel and Greg decided to go on a backpacking adventure to Colorado. As they fell in love with the Rocky Mountains, they also fell in love with each other. Shortly after their return to the big state of Texas, Mel had to go back to school in Georgetown, about an hour and a half away. Nevertheless, their long distance relationship flourished.
In December 2007, they went on a road trip across the Southwestern U.S. and Greg proposed to Mel in Carlsbad Caverns. (It's really a funny story; ask them about it.) They hope to have many adventures in the years to come. They are very excited (and a little scared) about getting married and hope that you help them celebrate the big event in November!
